Tinker Federal Credit Union (TFCU) in Oklahoma City recently hosted its 19th annual Miracle Car show to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, raising $8,698.

The car show featured door prizes, music, concessions, crafts, and a 50/50 raffle, along with awards for winners.

“We had some amazing cars and faithful participants at this year’s Miracle Car Show to make the event possible,” said Starla Shatswell, TFCU’s car show coordinator. “We also had a great group of employees there to work.”

She added, “This year proved to be a challenge with a week full of storms before and the threat of more on the evening of the event. This event is always so fun to put on with such an amazing group. We love having an opportunity to help our fellow Oklahomans and especially the children at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.”

This year’s Miracle Child was DeKharai, who suffered from a bilateral grade four brain bleed and was later diagnosed with Spastic Quadriplegic CP, Seizure Disorder, and Visual Disorder. DeKharai’s name means “bringer of joy.” He loves smiling, watching sports, and singing every kind of music.

Children’s Miracle Network funds children’s medical research and works to enhance children’s lives in Oklahoma. All of the money raised will stay in Oklahoma and benefit Children’s Hospital Foundation. Children’s Miracle Network has been one of TFCU’s corporate charities for the past 20 years.

This is one of the numerous charity activities TFCU coordinates. Employees of the credit union also raised funds to benefit Children’s Miracle Network, donating a total of $26,182.
