What is DE?
The National Credit Union Foundation's (NCUF) Development Education (DE) program helps established and emerging leaders within the credit union movement understand and leverage credit unions’ unique business model to serve members and communities in new and better ways.
NCUF offers in-person and virtual options throughout the year. Visit their website for more information about this program.
CSCUDE Society Membership
Membership into the DE Society is open to anyone who has successfully earned the Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) designation or a Certified Credit Union Cooperator (CCUC) designation.
Membership is voluntary and as such, there is no membership fee.
The annual membership meeting will be held in the fourth quarter.
Member Information
CSCUDE Society members can access bylaws, on-demand webinars, and a roster.
DE Projects from the Community
After graduating from the DE Program, CUDEs are charged with completing a project in their credit union or community that improves people's well-being by using the skills and knowledge they gained. We encourage you to share your story so that your fellow DEs can support your future efforts and learn from your experiences.

Max Villaronga, Class of 2020
We created the Underserved Communities Foundation, founded in March of 2021, which is a 501c3 nonprofit organization to promote initiatives, programs, and policies that produce a thriving and equitable society. The Underserved Communities Foundation is a public charity committed to reducing poverty by empowering the underserved. Unlike many DE projects, we decided to create a group project. Each of our senior leaders at Raiz attends the CUDE program and is encouraged to join the group project to make an impact. -
Brad Hickey, Class of 2016
CU Build: CU Build is a nonprofit initiative that facilitates an annual multi-credit union build-a-thon, colloquially known as a hackathon, specifically tailored for credit unions within the Jack Henry ecosystem. Originating as a DE Project, CU Build's inception was rooted in the principles of the National Credit Union Foundation's Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) program. -
Laura Eblen, Class of 2019
Here is some of the info on my DE project, the Mazuma Pantry. The topic that spoke most to me was food insecurity.
