Cornerstone Credit Union League joined CUNA on Tuesday in issuing an action alert to solicit credit union comments on the Federal Communications Commission’s June 6 vote on a declaratory ruling regarding default call blocking. CUNA’s Grassroots Action Center contains information about the issue and provides a submission form to send comments to the FCC today, May 30.
FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai announced earlier this month that FCC will take action on a proposal to allow voice service providers to block robocalls by default.
The ruling would complicate or erode a credit union's ability to relay information and implement consumer protections regarding fraud, privacy, and account activity and could potentially endanger not only consumers' financial well-being, but also safe and sound credit union practices.
