Aggieland CU donates $10K to Voices for Children–CASA of Brazos Valley

Aggieland Credit Union staff present a $10,000 check to representatives from Voices for Children–CASA of Brazos Valley.
Aggieland Credit Union in College Station, Texas, donated $10,000 to Voices for Children–CASA of Brazos Valley on May 4 during the "Go to Bat for CASA" kickoff event held at Blue Bell Park before the Aggies played against the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Voices for Children is a cause Texas A&M Head Baseball Coach Rob Childress and Aggieland Credit Union support in the Brazos Valley. This year, Aggieland Credit Union is partnering with Texas A&M Baseball to Go to Bat for CASA, rewarding special plays with donations to the organization at all home games at Blue Bell Park.
Voices for Children hosted a volunteer appreciation tailgate before the game with donated tickets purchased by Aggieland Credit Union. Rusty Surette, anchor/reporter and executive producer with KBTX, and KBTX Meteorologist Shel Winkley were on site raising awareness through their participation in a dunking booth. Donations were made to try your luck, and Aggieland CU President/CEO Howard N. Baker II made the first dunk.
Voices for Children was incorporated as an organization in 2000 with the first group of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers completing training in July 2001. Voices for Children expanded to include Grimes County in 2007 and Burleson County in 2009. In 2017, Voices for Children extended services to Leon County and Madison County.
