Posted: Jan 14, 2019 | Author:

Gail Enda has become the new president and CEO of Fort Worth-based American Airlines Credit Union, effective immediately. Enda has worked for American Airlines Federal Credit Union for 17 years.

“I could not be more proud to lead this organization that is so passionate about our purpose and focused on our members and each other,” Enda said. “I also want to thank Angie Owens for her steadfast leadership over the last 10-plus years.”

Enda had been acting president for the past few months, during previous CEO Angie Owens' transition to VP/controller of American Airlines.

“I have enjoyed and appreciated the wonderful opportunities that American Airlines Credit Union has given me over the past 10-plus years," Owens said. "Knowing I have a strong and caring leadership team in place to carry this organization to new heights has made this very difficult decision somewhat easier. Gail’s breadth of knowledge, strong educational background, and significant industry participation make her an excellent selection for this role.”

Enda has served in various roles, most recently as senior vice president of lending and product management, where she oversaw the credit union’s payments products, digital services, mortgage and business lending operations, consumer loan and account services programs and collections functions.

Enda serves on the NAFCU Regulatory Affairs Committee and is an active member of the CUNA Lending Council and Members Development Corporation. She has been on the board of directors for ePayResources™, formerly SWACHA, since 2015. Enda has an undergraduate degree in operations research and industrial engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA.
