PLANO, TEXAS, April 29, 2022 – The Cornerstone League held its premiere yearly event, IMPACT 2022: Annual Meeting and Council Forum last week in Grapevine, Texas, with more than 550 credit union professionals in attendance.

IMPACT 2022 is one of Cornerstone’s largest member events of the year, which brings together individuals from across the nation to discuss topics such as credit union legislation, economic forecasts, and changes in the compliance and regulatory environment. The three-day event featured in-depth council forum sessions, high-profile keynote speakers, vendors, events including annual service award presentations and Party with a Purpose, a homecoming-themed fundraising event, and Cornerstone’s Annual Business Meeting.

Caroline Willard & Kyle Hauptman“We had some of the brightest minds in the credit union movement come together at IMPACT 2022 including NCUA Vice Chairman Kyle Hauptman who shared insight into succession planning, cryptocurrency, and financial inclusion,” said Cornerstone League President/CEO Caroline Willard. “Bringing together CU Smart leaders from across the industry created the perfect environment for in-person, real-time innovation.”

In addition to kicking off the conference with Vice Chairman Hauptman, IMPACT 2022 featured renowned keynote speakers including Soledad O’Brien, Keith Gåddie, Ross Ramsey, and Elliott Eisenberg. Their presentations explored the ties between the credit union movement and the legislative/regulatory landscape, the current economic environment, and how credit union people can stay true to the “people helping people” mission.

“IMPACT 2022 facilitated idea sharing, strategic planning, and so much more, not only for attendees but for exhibitors and sponsors as well,” said Cornerstone League Experiences & Events VP Tamra Gaines. “The collective learning that took place at this event set the stage for credit union growth and revolutionary change.”

Attendees at IMPACT 2022 benefited from leading industry voices who shared exceptional insights during general sessions, council forums, and roundtable discussions.

“I enjoyed learning and networking with the vendors at IMPACT 2022. This conference helped me be a better board member,” said Richard Johnson, board member at Sabine Federal Credit Union. “The more information I learn, the better board member I can be.”

The 25th Cornerstone Foundation annual golf tournament took place in conjunction with IMPACT 2022. With record numbers this year, the golf tournament hosted 148 players, 34 sponsors, and 15 volunteers. Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Cornerstone Foundation’s three initiatives: financial capability programs, credit union development, and disaster relief for credit union employees and volunteers.
