With summer almost over, you still have time to volunteer in your community. Here are a few examples of ways you can make an impact in your area.

Arkansas

Annual Back-to-School Event for Kids of Hot Spring County

The Malvern/Hot Spring County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a back-to-school block party on Aug. 4 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Offering games, hot dogs, and school supplies, this event will take place at the HSC Courthouse Lawn.

CASA of Northeast Oklahoma

This local nonprofit trains volunteers to become court appointed advocates for abused and neglected children.

Dallas Mayor’s Back to School Fair

Dallas mayor Eric Johnson will host the 26th Annual Dallas Mayor’s Back to School Fair on Friday, Aug. 5, 2022 at Fair Park. The signature annual event provides Dallas students and families with essential school supplies and valuable services and resources.

Kids’ Meals, Inc.

Kids’ Meals, Inc.’s mission is to end childhood hunger by delivering free healthy meals to the doorsteps of Houston’s hungriest pre-school aged children and through collaboration, provide their families with resources to help end the cycle of poverty.

ELEVATE: Credit Union Leadership Summit YP Advisor Giveback

The YP Advisors are spearheading a fundraiser at ELEVATE: Credit Union Leadership Summit Aug. 31-Sept. 2 in Houston. We will be working with The Beacon, a Houston nonprofit organization that serves individuals experiencing homelessness, providing daily services, legal aid, and counseling. We will be collecting the following items for donation:

  • Toothbrushes
  • Travel Size Toothpaste
  • Unused hotel soap, shampoo, and conditioner
  • Socks
  • Combs
