Question: Why do you love working for a credit union?

Answer: I love working for a credit union because the credit union industry is truly focused around collaborative efforts. “People helping people” is not just a saying, but a daily action in this industry. We help each other; we help our members; and we help our communities. Working for a credit union makes me feel like I am a part of something bigger than just a job or even a career but that of something greater.

Question: What is one thing you are excited to do as a YP Advisor?

Answer: I am excited to reach more Young Professionals as a YP Advisor. We had some setbacks in 2020 but not all for the worse. With our new virtual platforms, we can definitely reach more people. I am excited to see what 2021 has in store, from fundraising to political action. The YP Advisor group has a lot to do, and I am just excited to be a part of it.

Question: What do you think is the biggest concern for credit unions?

Answer: Well, with the current economic state, I think many credit unions are concerned with growth. Now I know that sounds crazy, growth seems like a good thing, and it is, but when growth out paces earnings, it can lead to negative consequences. Due to the current pandemic, credit unions are doing all they can to help their members, from waiving fees to loan modifications. Although these things may put a damper on our earnings, it is so amazing to be able to give back during such a difficult time. This goes back to the reason I love working for a credit union.

Question: Current binge-watching obsession:

Answer: Recently, my friend discovered a show on Netflix called Imposters, and I have been hooked ever since. I am almost at the end of the second season (the last season). Not sure what show will be next for me.
