Read time: 2 mins, 14 secs

The Cornerstone League Young Professionals group is tasked with attracting, engaging, and empowering young talent in the Cornerstone region while making a positive impact in our communities. That’s why the Leaguer regularly features YP spotlights to help you get to know these up-and-comers. This month, meet Abbie Adams, Shay Williams, and Sydney Bolin.

Learn more about YPs.

Abbie Adams

YP Spotlights, Abbie Adams, TTCU

Abbie Adams is a knowledge management specialist for TTCU Federal Credit Union in Tulsa, Okla. She has six years of experience in the credit union industry and eight years total working in financial institutions.

Adams enjoys the collaborative nature of credit unions. “I love working with each department at the credit union to identify resource needs and develop solutions,” she said. “It’s a true team effort and seeing everyone come together to improve our employees’ processes is inspiring.”

She’s currently binge-watching “The Challenge,” but one movie that she’ll never get tired of watching is "Elf." One of her favorite quotes from the film is, “I know I sound like a broken record, but we are buddies. You’re my best friend, that’s it!” With that said, her favorite dessert is her mom’s Christmas cookies.

Beyond films and television, Adams is reading “Multipliers: How the Best Leaders Make Everyone Smarter” by Liz Wiseman.

She feels Disney World is her absolute favorite out of all the places she's traveled.

If Adams could have any superpower, she would choose teleportation so she wouldn’t have to pay for gas again.

A nonprofit close to her heart is the American Red Cross. “I donate blood every 8-10 weeks. You can save up to 3 lives with a single donation, and as a universal donor, they’re always in need of my blood type.”

Shay Williams

YP Spotlights, Shay Williams, Gulf Credit Union

Shay Williams is a mortgage processor/servicer for Gulf Credit Union in Beaumont, Texas. After an impressive 18 years of experience in the credit union industry, Williams can say that some of her favorite things about working in the credit union are community involvement and putting people before profits.

Currently, Williams is reading “Women Who Run with the Wolves” by Clarissa Pinkola Estés.

A favorite travel destination is Nassau, Bahamas. Williams admits that her favorite dessert is Italian cream cake.

When it comes to superpowers, Williams would enjoy being able to fly. “I love the thought of being free and viewing things from other people’s perspectives.”

Her favorite nonprofit to support is Sleep in Heavenly Peace. “It’s very fulfilling to give back to the community and put smiles on the kids' faces,” she said.

Sydney Bolin

YP Spotlights, Sydney Bolin, Texoma Community CU

Sydney Bolin is a senior relationship banker for Texoma Community Credit Union in Wichita Falls, Texas. With over eight years in the credit union industry, Bolin enjoys growing within her role and the opportunity to build relationships with members.

Something about Bolin that surprises most people is her temperament. She explained her “goofiness” tends to catch people off guard.

One movie that Bolin can watch over and over is “The Wedding Singer,” but rather than hang out with Adam Sandler, she would choose Matthey McConaughey if she could chat with any celebrity.

Bolin is currently binge-watching “Suits.” As far as podcasts go, she enjoys anything motivational.

When it comes to her favorite dessert, Bolin appreciates a good slice of cheesecake. Her favorite travel destination is upstate New York.

If she could have any superpower, she would choose the ability to read minds.
