Endurance FCU Day of Kindness

Endurance Federal Credit Union in Duncan, Okla., participated in World Kindness Day by doing random acts of kindness in the Duncan community. Employees went out to local grocery stores and restaurants and gave forty $50 gift cards to random strangers.

“Many of them just said ‘is this real?’ or ‘this is such a blessing’ when we would give them the card,” said Chris Bower, president/CEO. “It’s a very humbling experience, and we wanted help people have the best day ever.”

Some of the people that received gift cards said they were going to pass it on to spread kindness one act at a time, which was what Endurance FCU’s slogan was for that day.

“We are glad that we were able to randomly be kind to others,” said Bower. “One act goes a long way.”

Fort Worth-based American Airlines Federal Credit Union proudly presented Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals with a $60,000 donation as a result of its 27th annual Credit Union Golf Tournament, which took place Sept. 22, 2023, at Cowboys Golf Club in Grapevine, Texas. The total donation will be split between Cook Children’s Health Foundation and Children’s Medical Center Foundation.

The check was presented this month at the $8.6 billion credit union’s headquarters in Fort Worth. Karol Johnson, Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth was in attendance to accept the donation from American Airlines Credit Union President/CEO Gail Enda and tournament coordinator Tish Pruitt.

The tournament’s presenting sponsors were Jack Henry and PSCU, with many other businesses participating at various sponsorship levels.

“It was another beautiful day for our annual tournament with plenty of sunshine to brighten everyone's spirits as we played for a good cause,” said Pruitt. “It’s a great way to come together, have some fun, and show our support by raising much-needed funds for our children’s hospitals.”

“This annual fundraiser is one of the highlights of my year, especially considering what a wonderful cause it benefits,” said Enda. “It's always inspiring to see the generosity of our community as they come together to support the area's best pediatric healthcare providers.”

Credit unions hold fast to their motto of “people helping people,” and this philosophy blossoms with the industry's support of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
