Crash Hike the Hill

Are you a young professional or do you know one who is inspired by credit union advocacy? Have you been longing to hone your advocacy chops at a Hike the Hill in Washington, D.C.? Here’s your chance!

Cornerstone is inviting five young credit union professionals, ages 18–40, to apply to “crash” Hike the Hill, Oct. 23–25. Each person selected (one from each Cornerstone state) will receive $1,000 to cover travel expenses and hotel accommodation.

Crashers will receive advocacy updates and meet with legislators and regulators. Crashers will also attend special sessions to help them understand the reasons we advocate, what happens when we don’t advocate, and how we can make the most of our meetings with lawmakers and policymakers.

Don’t just take it from us. Here’s a YP Crasher from the 2022 Hike the Hill:

Tiffany Greenway“I was honored to be one of the first YP Crashers for Hike the Hill,” said Tiffany Greenway, lending manager with TruService Community FCU. “I was surprised to find myself literally sitting at the table with Jim Nussle, Rodney Hood, Trey Hawkins, and others discussing the important issues facing credit unions today. To be able to take that information over to the House of Representatives and Senate for legislative meetings, be heard, and be supported was a great accomplishment. It’s a great opportunity for YPs to learn how to be advocates.”

To be considered for Crash Hike the Hill, please complete the application and submit a video of one-to-two minutes in duration about why you should be one of the lucky three to attend the 2023 Hike the Hill.

Hurry! Deadline to submit your application and video is Sept. 8!
