Back Your PAC at the Ballpark brings CUs and lawmakers to Riverfront Stadium

On Aug. 30, the Kansas Credit Union Association hosted the Back Your PAC at the Ballpark in Wichita. Approximately 40 people attended from eight credit unions, including seven credit union CEOs and four legislators from the Wichita area.  

The event began at 6 p.m. in the Wichita Baseball Museum at Riverfront Stadium. Credit union members and special guests participated in a lively meet-and-greet so every special guest had the opportunity to meet each person in the room. Credit union advocates were not shy to introduce themselves and make personal connections with their lawmakers.  

KSCUA Executive Director Michael Murray kicked off the event and introduced Meritrust Federal Credit Union CEO James Nastars, whose credit union sponsored the main event. Credit Union of America sponsored the bar.

Each lawmaker touched on different parts of the legislative process as well as legislation that impacts credit unions, including the ESG bill that credit unions and banks worked on last session. A fter the meet-and-greet, the Wichita Wind Surge game began.
