Shell's Furthering Community Unity Team hosts pet adoption drive

Posted: Jul 23, 2019 | Author: Shell FCU

The Furthering Community Unity (FCU) Team powered by Shell Federal Credit Union partnered with the Harris County Animal Shelter on June 15 to host a pet adoption at the Shell FCU Wilson branch.

The collaboration marked a pivotal moment for the FCU Team, as it was the first pet adoption the organization had hosted outside of the Deer Park/Pasadena area. With more than 15 volunteers present, the FCU Team and Harris County Animal Shelter helped adopt 10 animals to their forever homes.

In preparation for the event, the FCU Team held a branch-wide pet supply drive benefiting the Harris County Animal Shelter. Together, the Shell FCU members and community raised more than $2,000 in pet food, pet beds, carriers, cleaning supplies, and much more for the animals in the shelter.

Since 2008, the FCU Team has raised more than $105,000 and donated over 9,500 hours. The FCU Team has partnered with organizations in the past, such as the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center, Pasadena Animal Shelter, Today’s Harbor for Children, Habitat for Humanity, and many more.
