Experiences & Events

“Commitment is an act, not a word.” - Jean-Paul Sartre

Cornerstone is committed to providing safe events and meetings for the support of our member credit unions. Some of the actions we have taken to ensure timely and safe education are as follows:

  • Webinars: Remote options are available for roundtables, chapter meetings, committee meetings, and other events
  • In-person events: In addition to social distancing, other on-site precautions will include daily temperature checks, strong encouragement to wear a mask no matter your vaccine status, masked hotel and event staff, designated seating, reminders to reinforce spatial distancing, and hand sanitizer stations throughout the space
  • Staying in communication with other leagues and event planners to stay abreast of best practices

Our commitment to safety was best exhibited at our recent in-person Young Professionals Conference in Dallas. Initially we encouraged masks for attendees, but did not require them, which was in line with the hotel’s policy. Mid-conference, Dallas County issued a mask mandate, and our on-site staff snapped into action to ensure our compliance with the mandate.

A conference attendee, Cody Cupit of Sabine FCU said, “I appreciated how comfortable I felt at the conference. When the mask mandate came out, they didn’t hesitate to tell us about it and offer masks to anyone who didn’t already have one. I also like that we had the liberty to go at our own pace as far as social distancing and position ourselves where we felt most comfortable at tables and in the rooms.”

With the remainder of our in-person events this Fall and Winter, you can rest assured that we will continue to prioritize member safety as we prepare for these events. We will continue to align with CDC guidelines and to find creative ways for our members to connect with one another while staying safe.
