Credit unions have been recognized with the prestigious Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Founders Award for their outstanding contributions. This accolade, reserved for exceptional individuals or organizations, applauds credit unions for their significant commitment, time, and talent in supporting CMN Hospitals.

Awarded selectively in special instances, credit unions have been steadfast partners through CU4Kids since 1996, raising over $200 million for local member hospitals. These funds directly aid patients and contribute to community-based programs, providing vital support during hospital stays.

“Credit unions have spent decades dedicated to improving pediatric healthcare through CU4Kids,” said John Bratsakis, CU4Kids advisory board chair and president/CEO of MD|DC Credit Union Association. “While we don’t do it for the recognition, I am so proud our efforts are being highlighted through the Founders Award. Together, we have made a transformational impact for millions of kids and families—our members—and we have a lot to celebrate!”

Credit unions have made huge impacts on kids like brothers Issac and Easton, who were born at just 26 weeks and spent time in the neonatal intensive care unit. Their parents lived four hours from their local children’s hospital in Missouri. Thanks to donations through CU4Kids benefiting CMN Hospitals, the family received travel expenses and support for their sons’ needs, including therapy for sensory issues, medications, and medical equipment.

Each dollar raised through CU4Kids helps improve the health of kids and allows them the opportunity to grow to their full potential. Through donations, local member hospitals can provide treatments and support that patients desperately need today so they can fulfill their potential for tomorrow.
