In honoring this holiday season, Cornerstone League and the Cornerstone Foundation adopted a family of seven through The Family Place of Dallas. The seven family members include a mother and her six children, all girls, ages 3 months, 2 years, 4 years, 6 years, 8 years, and 11 years.
The Family Place is the largest family violence service provider in Texas. They empower survivors of family violence by providing safe housing, counseling, and skills that create independence while building community engagement and advocating for social change to stop family violence.
Cornerstone staff donated physical items and gift cards and were able to fulfill the family’s lists of items needed and items wanted.
“Giving to a family in need, especially around the holidays, is quite gratifying,” said Cornerstone Foundation Executive Director Courtney Moran. “Given the family’s recent challenges and uncertainties, we really wanted their Christmas to be special, so we went all out to get them things they wanted as well as those things they needed. We hope our gift-giving during this tough time will bring smiles to their faces and warmth to their hearts.”
