Celebrate Black History Month
February is Black History Month, a time to celebrate the achievements and cultural contributions of African Americans.
Celebrate with your community by attending one of the following community events:
Houston
BLCK Market is hosting multiple events on Feb. 11, 18, and 25 starting at 1 p.m. at Avenida De Las Americas to showcase small businesses and entrepreneurs. There will also be live music and cultural activations.

Oklahoma City
On Feb. 27 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the Ralph Ellison Library is featuring a film showing and discussion with the Society of Urban Poets. This is a free event and refreshments are provided.

Little Rock
The Black History Commission of Arkansas is hosting a symposium Feb. 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center. The event will be discussing African American Business and Entrepreneurship in Arkansas with speakers including, Dr. Brian Mitchell, Larry Lewis, and Harbo Hearne. This event requires registration and is free.
Kansas City
On Feb. 1 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. the John Wornall House Museum is hosting a Black History Month Drop-In. The event includes the Black experience audio guide, artifacts relating to enslavement, and discussions about enslavement in Missouri. The event is free and welcomes donations.
