The Credit Union Ripple Effect
By Nermina Ibisevic, YP Advisor, branch manager & business development officer, First Missouri CU
In the credit union movement, impact doesn’t always come from the biggest decisions. Sometimes, it starts with something small.
One conversation can give a member the confidence to take the next step. One loan can help a family purchase their first home or a reliable vehicle. One employee taking the extra time to listen can turn a frustrating experience into a lasting relationship.
The impact doesn’t stop with that one member. It can reach their family, their future, and even their community—creating a ripple effect that extends far beyond the original interaction.
That’s what makes credit unions unique. We may measure loans, accounts, and growth, but behind every number is a person whose life may have been changed by a decision, an opportunity, or simply someone who cared enough to help.
As credit union professionals, we may never see every ripple we create. But that doesn’t make the impact any less meaningful.
Every day, we have an opportunity to create a ripple. The question is: What kind of ripple will you create?
