GECU Young Professionals Support Families Through Summer Supply Drive

Wed August 12, 2026

GECU’s Young Professionals turned their commitment to community service into meaningful support for families staying at Ronald McDonald House Charities of El Paso.

Meeting Everyday Needs

Throughout the summer, GECU employees and YP participants collected more than $700 in monetary donations, along with household supplies and food pantry items for the organization.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of El Paso provides families with a place to stay while their children receive medical care. The donated items will help support residents and the facility’s daily operations, providing practical resources and added comfort during difficult circumstances.

In July, GECU YP Advisors delivered the collected donations directly to the organization.

Building Leadership Through Service

The drive also reflects the broader mission of the YP program, which emphasizes leadership development, volunteerism, and community engagement.

By organizing and supporting efforts like the supply drive, GECU’s young professionals are strengthening local partnerships while gaining experience that extends beyond their day-to-day roles. The initiative demonstrates how emerging credit union leaders can make an immediate difference in their communities while carrying the “people helping people” philosophy forward.
