The Cornerstone League Young Professionals group is dedicated to attracting, engaging, and empowering young talent in the Cornerstone region and positively impacting our communities. The Leaguer regularly features YP Spotlights to help you get to know these up-and-comers. This month, meet Katie Albert, Silvia Bathrop, and Alejandra Salcedo.

Katie Albert

YP Spotlights, Katie Albert, Frontier CCU

Katie Albert is a member support assistant at Frontier Community Credit Union in Leavenworth, Kan., with two years of experience in the credit union industry. She enjoys getting to know members and helping them as much as possible.

Albert isn’t big on re-watching movies, but she loves comedies. She is currently reading "What Lies in the Woods" by Kate Alice Marshall and binge-watching "Daisy Jones & The Six." Most people are surprised to learn that she fears flying and heights. Her favorite place to travel is Las Vegas, and if she could have any superpower, it would be teleportation to avoid flying altogether.

Albert supports the Council on Aging for its work with seniors, particularly through the Meals on Wheels program. Her favorite dessert is warm fudge brownies with vanilla ice cream.

YP Spotlights, Silvia Balthrop, Texoma Community CU

Silvia Bathrop

Silvia Bathrop is the assistant to the COO at Texoma Community Credit Union in Wichita Falls, Texas. With eight years of experience in the credit union industry, Bathrop’s favorite part of her job is serving not just members, but also non-members and the community.

Her favorite movie is "Mean Girls," and she surprises people with the fact that, despite her love for fashion now, she grew up as a tomboy. Bathrop’s role model is her mom, whom she admires for her strength and inspiration.

She loves to travel to New York and would choose teleportation as her superpower to ease travel anxiety. Her favorite dessert is cookies and ice cream.

Alejandra Salcedo

YP Spotlights, Alejandra Salcedo, GECU

Alejandra Salcedo is an advocacy and program coordinator at GECU in El Paso, Texas, with over 10 years of experience in the credit union industry. She enjoys advocating for the credit union movement and working alongside her peers to make an impact by promoting the “people helping people” philosophy.

Her favorite movie is "Burlesque," and she surprises people with her artistic abilities, including drawing, crafting, and painting murals. If she could chat with any public figure, Salcedo would choose Frida Kahlo for her resilience and cultural legacy.
