Multipli CU named top-performing U.S. credit union by S&P Global Market Intelligence

Springfield, Mo.-based Multipli Credit Union led S&P Global Market Intelligence’s ranking of the top 100 U.S. credit unions across key metrics in 2022. After nabbing the second spot in 2021, Multipli outperformed the industry median in four of the five ranking metrics in 2022.

S&P Global Market Intelligence launched the rankings in 2011 to assess the performance of community banks and credit unions. The division ranks institutions based on returns, growth, and efficiency but places a premium on the strength and risk profile of balance sheets. To compile this ranking, S&P Global Market Intelligence calculated scores for each company based on five metrics: member growth; total number of loans per member; net worth as a percentage of total assets; delinquent loans as a percentage of total loans; and return on average assets.

Multipli Credit Union has more than 11,700 members and $170 million in assets. The credit union outperformed the industry median in four of the five ranking metrics, while total loans and leases grew 27.9% year-over-year in 2022, compared to the top 100 median of 17.9%. Its 8.25 loans per member was the third highest among the top 100 credit unions.

Together Credit Union partners to introduce ‘Soccer for Our CITY’

St. Louis CITY SC and the Gateway Region YMCA are growing interest in and expanding play of soccer among regional kids with Soccer for Our CITY, presented by Together Credit Union. Soccer for Our CITY provides eligible youth, from pre-K through sixth grade, the opportunity to participate in the YMCA’s soccer program at a reduced cost.

YMCA members pay $5 and non-members pay $10 (per season) to participate in Soccer for Our CITY. CITY SC will provide equipment for the program, including soccer balls and branded T-shirts for the team’s coaches. The club will also work with the Y to implement a training curriculum for the participating coaches to heighten the level of training and play within the existing soccer program. This training will focus on technical, emotional, social, tactical, and physical skillsets.

Together Credit Union, with over $2.4 billion in assets and more than 140,000 members, is the club’s second founding partner and official banking partner and has collaborated with CITY SC on several community initiatives focused on youth development since 2021. In addition to serving as the presenting sponsor of Soccer for Our CITY, the credit union donated $10,000 to the YMCA in support of their mission to help people and communities learn, grow, and thrive.

Oklahoma City Chapter of Sister Society meets for Networking Night

The Oklahoma City Chapter of Sister Society met last week for its first Networking Night of the year.

Attendees enjoyed dinner, participated in a speed networking activity, and then heard from a panel of female CEOs about their professional journeys: what got them where they are today, keeping a work/life balance, how to overcome imposter syndrome, and advice they would give their younger selves.

The CEOs were Griselda Spencer, El Reno RIL Credit Union; Luann Schmiedel, Oklahoma’s Credit Union; and Lynette Leonard, former CEO of Allegiance Credit Union.

The chapter organizers also gave away door prizes.
