True Sky CU hosts Caribbean delegation, partners with World Foundation for ICU Day event
True Sky Credit Union is celebrating the cooperative movement on an international scale. President and CEO Sean Cahill said True Sky will host a Caribbean delegation Oct. 16–21 in Oklahoma. The delegation includes the Caribbean Credit Union League, Barbados Credit Union League, and credit unions from Barbados.
On Oct. 19, Cornerstone League and Oklahoma Credit Union Association will join the welcoming festivities and host a luncheon for the delegation at the Credit Union House in Oklahoma City. Cornerstone Senior Vice President Mike Delker will provide a comprehensive overview of the Cornerstone League to the delegation and detail the League’s International Relationship Committee activities.
Cahill said his credit union is in the middle of a Global Bridges Journey to further the seven digital transformation working groups currently in motion and to celebrate International Credit Union Day together on Oct. 20.
In addition, through a special partnership with the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions, True Sky will be promoting a special ICU Day event to help EMPOWER millions of members’ lives toward a brighter financial future with credit unions.

For ICU Day, Cahill said, “We are looking to engage our employees and members in doing global good by donating $10.20 on 10/20. We also encourage credit unions to set up friendly competitions. For example, True Sky and Cy-Fair Credit Union will be competing to raise the most money.”
Alternatively, he said, credit unions can decide to match member donations or contribute on their own as they see fit.
“True Sky’s board of directors is proud to partner with the World Council of Credit Union’s Foundation on programs, such as these and the Global Women’s Leadership Network, which are designed to assist people and credit unions across the globe,” Cahill said.

International Credit Union Day
Cornerstone League joins the World Council of Credit Unions to celebrate International Credit Union Day on the third Thursday of October every year. This year, ICU Day is Thursday, Oct. 16, and the theme is Cooperation for a Prosperous World. ICU Day celebrates the spirit of the global credit union movement. We raise awareness on ICU Day to promote the movement’s achievements, share member experiences, and give members the opportunity to get more engaged.
