During this informational webinar, Foundation staff will provide an overview of the 2027 grants and scholarships program, including:
- Professional Development Grants
- Southwest Credit Union Management School Scholarships
- Community Impact Grants
- Disaster Relief Grants
We will review eligibility requirements, available funding, application deadlines, eligible expenses, and the information needed to submit a strong and complete application. Attendees will also learn how applications are evaluated, what grant recipients should expect after receiving an award, and where to find additional guidance and support.
Whether you are planning professional development opportunities, developing a community-based program, or simply want to better understand the resources available through the Foundation, this webinar will help you identify the right opportunity and prepare for the application process.
Credit union leaders, staff, volunteers, chapter representatives, and anyone involved in planning or submitting a grant application are encouraged to attend.
Speaker:
Emily Moreno
Emily Moreno serves as program director for the Cornerstone Foundation, following her previous role as
grants manager. She oversees the Foundation’s grants and scholarships, financial wellness partnerships
and resources, donor-advised funds, and disaster relief efforts. Through this work, Emily builds strong
relationships with credit unions and connects them with resources that help them make a meaningful
impact in their communities.
Before joining the Foundation, Emily served as credit union relations administrative assistant for the
Cornerstone Credit Union League. Throughout her 18-year career with Cornerstone, she has worked
closely with councils, committees, young professional advisors, the Cornerstone League Board of
Directors, and the Foundation Board of Trustees.
Emily became a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) through the FiCEP program in 2016
and earned her Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) designation in 2017. She was also
recognized as the Cornerstone League’s 2017 Employee of the Year. Emily is committed to serving
others and bringing her passion for helping credit unions and their communities to the Foundation’s
work.
