Marketing & Business Development Council Webinars

Texting Compliance

Join Carl Pry, Senior Advisor at Asurity Advisors, for a focused one-hour webinar on the compliance essentials of text-based advertising. This session will cover regulatory requirements including Reg. DD, Reg. Z, and fair lending principles, as well as key topics such as triggering terms, required disclosures, the "one click away" rule, and UDAP/UDAAP risks. Carl will also share best practices for avoiding deceptive advertising in text communications. The webinar will include a short Q&A session to address attendee questions.

Carl Pry is a seasoned executive with banking law, corporate finance, and regulatory compliance experience in Fortune 500 institutions, regional banks and industry consulting firms. Carl advises clients on consumer and commercial compliance, fair lending, operations, risk, corporate treasury, and risk management.

As a featured speaker, Carl has led hundreds of training sessions for banking associations, compliance organizations, and regulatory bodies across the country.

Carl has authored numerous articles on financial issues and developed testing and support materials for certifications at the ABA and BAI. He has served as subject matter expert for compliance and audit educational testing programs and has authored guides and manuals focused on business planning, risk analysis, lending and regulatory topics.

He has served as an instructor for FDIC and NCUA examiner schools and is a frequent contributor to and currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Editorial Advisory Board for the ABA Bank Compliance magazine. He has also served Carl holds a JD and MBA from the University of Toledo and a BSBA from Bowling Green State University. He is a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) and a Certified Risk Professional (CRP).
