Leave a Legacy: Women of Credit Unions in Texas

Last month, we introduced our first group of credit union trailblazers and legacy award winners. This month, we are showcasing some of the highly successful credit union women in the Lone Star State who are deep into shaping their legacy for the next generation.

Leave a Legacy: Shelli McCoy

Shelli McCoy’s distinguished career embodies the cooperative spirit so characteristic of the credit union movement: collaboration, equality, social justice, service, and investing in people, to name just some. For this Development Educator project award winner, it’s all intentional. No wonder Credit Union Magazine named McCoy a Credit Union Rock Star in 2019.

Leave a Legacy: Carolyn Jordan

Carolyn Jordan has a super objective. She is committed to using servant leadership to help others unlock and achieve their highest potential. As a credit union leader, she strives to be an influencer, encouraging credit unions to be forward-thinking, digital first, and culturally diverse to achieve consistent high-level growth and service excellence. And that’s just one reason Jordan is on our list of credit union trailblazers.

Leave a Legacy: Terrie Johnson

Terrie Johnson has enjoyed a long credit union career that began in 1979, when she took a teller position at LTV Federal Credit Union, which later became Texas Trust Credit Union. Over the years, Johnson advanced through the ranks and, after 36 years, retired in 2015. However, “retirement” is often a subjective term.

Leave a Legacy: Mary Beth Spuck

Mary Beth Spuck has honed her broad credit union expertise in leadership, sales, member service, collaboration, and project management over two decades in the financial services industry. Some of that experience has inspired this international traveler, CEO, and multi-DE grad to think more holistically about her members and an above-and-beyond approach to service.
