Azura Credit Union, City of Topeka Launch Financial Literacy Initiative
Azura Credit Union is partnering with the City of Topeka on a new financial literacy initiative designed to help residents strengthen their personal finance skills in a setting that feels more welcoming than formal. The new Money Moves Pop-Up Initiative is being led by the city’s Office of Inclusive Communities and Azura as a community-focused effort to improve residents’ understanding of personal finance.
The program will feature a series of outdoor information sessions where residents can speak directly with financial experts and ask questions about budgeting, saving, credit, and financial planning. The sessions are free and open to the public, and organizers are encouraging attendees to bring lawn chairs to help create a relaxed, accessible environment for learning.
The first session is scheduled for May 28 from 5:30-6 p.m. in the parking lot of Azura Credit Union at 610 S.W. 10th Ave. in Topeka.
“This initiative is about meeting people where they are and providing accessible tools that can make a real difference in their daily lives,” Monique Glaudé, director of the city’s Office of Inclusive Communities, said in a statement. “Financial literacy is a critical component of long-term stability, and we’re excited to partner with Azura Credit Union to bring these resources directly into our neighborhoods.”
Katie Beach, community relationship manager for Azura, said the credit union is “thrilled to partner with the City of Topeka to offer information and resources to our neighbors.”
By taking financial education out into the community and making it easier to access, Azura and the city are creating space for practical conversations that can help residents feel more confident about their financial decisions.
