Cornerstone League is rolling out a new initiative called Leave a Legacy that honors some of our movement’s trailblazers in their own words. I’m excited to see this campaign take shape and invite you to check back next week for our first group of credit union champions.

Cornerstone Foundation is collaborating with The Art of Allowance Project, a new Preferred Financial Capability Service Provider featuring The Money Mammals and the ADOLESCENT$ program. You’re invited to attend a webinar on June 29 about the benefits of this collaboration to your credit union.

Another one of our Experiences and Events team members has graduated from the National Credit Union Foundation’s Development Educator (DE) class. I congratulate new CUDE Amber Bailey on graduating from the April 26–May 21 virtual class and am proud to say that all staff on the Experiences and Events team is a DE.

No one should be surprised at the news that 475 credit unions contributed $91 million to communities during the pandemic, but we can celebrate this wonderful milestone and thank CU Social Good for chronicling these stories around the country.

Last call for national CUNA award nominations—by June 30. We know your credit union does outstanding work with your members and the community. Why not ensure they’re recognized nationally? Cornerstone supports the National Credit Union Foundation’s national Biz Kid$ Showcase for young adults. Biz Kid$ ignites a passion for students to invest in their financial futures. See how these brilliant young minds won at state and national levels for their big ideas.

In regional news, Education First FCU has announced $36,000 of scholarships for the graduating seniors of 2021. WEOKIE FCU Mortgage Counselor Mayra Alvarez has been recognized by the NAHREP for having closed 170 mortgages during 2020.

Thank you for reading and for your membership. We are here to serve and appreciate your feedback. Have a productive week.
