Inside Cornerstone

For more than a decade, Fort Worth-based American Airlines Federal Credit Union has been proud to invest in the futures of its young member-owners by providing scholarship awards toward higher education. This year, out of hundreds of initial applicants, the credit union awarded 11 scholarships of $4,000 each to six high school students and five college students.

The Cornerstone League’s Lending and Collections Council is seeking members to serve on its executive committee. This volunteer position will help plan and provide training opportunities, webinars, roundtables, conferences, and award programs that bring the council members together throughout the year.

Lately, there has been much criticism about overdraft programs, stemming from the lack of transparency inherent in some program strategies. Much of the current disapproval expressed by critics in the political and consumer advocacy arenas results from a lack of fairness and transparency. When it comes to providing right-on-time services that help your members effectively maintain their finances, an easy-to-use, easy-to-understand approach is always the right way to do business.
