The Houston Chapter of Credit Unions continues to raise funds for children’s charities. On Sept. 24, 16 teams from 12 credit unions and business partners participated in the chapter’s annual bowling tournament at Copperfield Bowl in Houston. Participants in the event and the chapter board raised over $5,750 for children’s charities.

Greater Texas Credit Union took home its ninth Top Workplace honors from the Austin American-Statesman. The top workplace designation is based on results from an in-depth independent third-party survey of the credit union’s employees. Results were then compared to employee surveys of other participating Austin-based companies to determine the Top Workplaces.

The Miriam Johnson Scholarship from Texas Trust Gives Foundation was awarded to four students of Paul Quinn College.

Texas Trust Credit Union is now in full operation at its newly remodeled building at the corner of West Twohig Avenue and US-277 in San Angelo, following an extensive renovation. The new facility is also home to San Angelo’s newest sheep sculpture, which Texas Trust commissioned as a tribute to the city’s sheep industry heritage.

Cornerstone League has hired former elected official Garry Mize as the new executive director of its political division, the Oklahoma Credit Union Association, effective Nov. 1.
