Holy Rosary Credit Union Names Marquita Miller-Joshua New President

Welcome to Marquita Miller-Joshua as she steps into her new role as the leader of Holy Rosary Credit Union, succeeding longtime President/CEO Carole Wright following her retirement. Miller-Joshua has served in multiple leadership roles at the institution and was previously treasurer on Holy Rosary Credit Union’s volunteer board of directors.

Based in Kansas City, Mo., the $47 million-asset credit union serves more than 6,000 members and focuses heavily on serving economically distressed and historically underserved communities. Holy Rosary Credit Union holds an NCUA low-income designation and is certified as a Community Development Financial Institution.

According to an April 29 Facebook post from the credit union, Miller-Joshua brings more than 25 years of experience helping individuals and small businesses achieve long-term financial stability.

“The mission is clear. My role is to move it forward,” said Miller-Joshua.

“On behalf of Cornerstone, I congratulate Wright on her retirement and Miller-Joshua on her new role,” said Cornerstone League President/CEO Caroline Willard.

Education First Federal Credit Union Named Lumberton Chamber Business of the Year

Education First Federal Credit Union was recently named Business of the Year by the Lumberton Chamber of Commerce during the organization’s annual banquet held June 2 in Lumberton.

The award recognizes businesses that demonstrate outstanding leadership, community commitment, and service to Lumberton residents and businesses.

“This recognition is especially meaningful because it comes from the community we’re proud to serve every day,” said Urjit Patel, president/CEO. “Our Lumberton team is committed to building lasting relationships and helping our members and community thrive.”

Education First said it continues to invest in Southeast Texas through financial education initiatives, local partnerships, and a continued focus on personalized financial services. The credit union also recognized its Lumberton staff for their dedication and continued commitment to delivering exceptional service and supporting the community each day.
