April Mobley Your presenter: April Mobley

April Mobley, CUDE, is the Texas grassroots and PAC director for Cornerstone League. Her areas of expertise include grassroots and credit union advocacy, Advocacy 101 training, and political action committee (PAC) fundraising. She was instrumental in creating the UNITE grassroots program (previously CU: ROAR) and is a lead planner and coordinator of Cornerstone’s premier advocacy events, such as Hike the Hill and governmental affairs conferences.

 

ALM Workshop ALM Workshops return in June

Registration is open for the June ALM Workshops. Join presenter Margot Strong, ALM and financial analysis director at Cornerstone League, as she delivers a progressive, two-part workshop discussing the topics of asset/liability management. Workshops will be hosted at MemberSource Credit Union in Houston, June 4–5.  

The ALM Webinars are delivered in a two-day format. These workshops are perfect for anyone who wants to dip their toes into the world of credit union ALM or brush up on their expertise.

Margot Strong headshot Our Essentials and Implementation Workshops* are designed to get you up to speed on the key ALM goals, covering everything from earnings and capital to liquidity and basic interest-rate risk management. They’re an excellent chance for you, your team, ALCO members, and even board members to deepen your understanding and sharpen your skills.

  • Day 1: ALM Essentials | 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 
    • Enhance your understanding of the critical operational areas of earnings, capital, liquidity, and interest-rate risk management and how these four goals of ALM are interrelated.
    • How to manage earnings and spread.
    • The ratios you need to monitor, how to calculate the 13 Key Ratios, and the impact factors that drive them.
  • Day 2: ALM Implementation | 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  
    • Interest-rate risk: what it is, why it impacts the credit union, and why NCUA requires regular monitoring. 
    • Components of an ALM policy and an investment policy.
    • Historical liquidity analysis to identify and support liquidity needs.
