Credit Union Financial Health Conference Marks 10th Year with New Collaborative Leadership Model

Wed October 07, 2026

Denver, Colorado, Oct. 7, 2026 – Credit union leaders, financial well-being advocates, and industry innovators from across the country gathered last month for the 10th Annual CU FinHealth Conference, celebrating a milestone year with a groundbreaking new co-hosting structure led by ten state credit union foundations.

The conference welcomed 152 attendees representing 60 credit unions, 13 state credit union foundations and leagues, and 27 system partners from across the nation. By bringing together practitioners, researchers, foundations, and credit union leaders, the event reinforced a shared belief that financial well-being is not simply an initiative but a fundamental expression of the credit union mission.

The 2026 conference represents a significant evolution for the event. For the first time, 10 parties, including state credit union foundations and league associations, joined together as co-hosts.

“The future of financial well-being cannot be advanced by any one organization alone,” said Courtney Moran, executive director for Cornerstone Foundation. “This conference showcased the power of collaboration across the credit union system and reinforced our collective commitment to helping people build stronger financial futures.”

This collaborative leadership model expands the conference’s reach, strengthens cross-state partnerships, and reinforces the industry’s shared commitment to improving financial well-being for members and communities nationwide.

Throughout the conference, attendees explored emerging strategies and practical solutions designed to strengthen the financial resilience of individuals and families. Sessions focused on helping credit unions move beyond transactional relationships and create meaningful pathways to long-term financial well-being.

Beyond the sessions and speakers, attendees consistently highlighted the conference’s spirit of collaboration and shared purpose. “The line up and content struck a great balance between critical research and possible solutions,” said Megan Bolado, director of Economic Mobility, U.S. Programs for CARE. The momentum throughout the event reflected both the growth of the financial health movement and the commitment of those working to transform ideas into meaningful impact.

As the conference concludes its landmark 10th year, the collaborative model established by the cohosts provides a blueprint for future partnership and innovation, ensuring the CU FinHealth Conference continues to serve as a catalyst for innovation, learning, and measurable impact.
