Matthew Ballou to take helm of credit union April 1, 2026

PLANO, TEXAS, March 31, 2026 – Cornerstone Resources, in partnership with WyHy Federal Credit Union (WyHyFCU), is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Ballou as CEO. Ballou brings more than 12 years of leadership experience in the financial services industry and will assume his new role on April 1, 2026.

WyHyFCU, headquartered in Cheyenne, Wyoming, serves more than 22,700 members across five branches located throughout the state. Over more than seven decades, WyHyFCU has grown into one of Wyoming’s prominent community credit unions, managing approximately $411 million in assets. WyHyFCU is deeply committed to community involvement and financial education. The credit union supports local organizations, charitable initiatives, and educational programs aimed at improving financial literacy and strengthening Wyoming communities.

Ballou will succeed Bill Willingham, who has worked for the credit union since 1984, and has led the organization since 1992.

In his new role, Ballou will apply his experience in strategic growth initiatives, marketing, and driving loan growth. Most recently, Ballou was the chief retail officer at WyHyFCU, where he developed and deployed a retail, marketing, and mortgage strategy that advanced overall growth of the credit union.
