On July 2, Capitol Credit Union celebrated the grand opening of their new branch at 11920 Alterra Pkwy in the Domain shopping center across from Whole Foods in north Austin.
Board Chair Michael A. Jones had the honor of cutting the ribbon at the grand opening ceremony. President/CEO Pierre Cardenas was at his side, as well as credit union board members, Branch Manager Jessica Pollock, and branch staff. Call center and support service staff will be stationed at the Domain branch. The new location is wholly owned by Capitol CU and is the culmination of approximately two years of research and dedication by everyone involved.
The credit union uses NEXT integrated teller machines (ITMs) by DBSI and CFM out of Tempe, Ariz., in their branch lobby to handle monetary transactions fully interfaced into their host Symitar system. They will also have a stand-alone ITM at the prior branch location on Burnet Road with video teller capabilities available for processing their member transactions during normal credit union hours. After hours, the machines revert to an ATM accepting deposits and processing withdrawals.
Capitol CU is a member of the CO-OP Shared Branching Network as both issuer and acquirer. Shared Branch member transactions are available in the lobbies of the Domain and Lavaca locations at what staff refer to as the “Genius Bar.” Shared Branch transactions are available during posted lobby hours of operation, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
