Texas Trust Gives Foundation Expands Learning and Financial Education
Texas Trust Gives Foundation awarded more than $73,000 in grants to eight school districts across Texas, supporting programs designed to strengthen student learning, life skills, and career readiness.
Athens ISD will use its funding to stock book vending machines at three elementary schools, giving students—many from economically disadvantaged households—free access to books. Fort Worth ISD will fund technology and equipment for an Entrepreneurial Makerspace and Business Incubator Classroom, where high school students can gain hands-on experience with innovation, product development, and business creation.
Grants ranged from $6,000 to $11,000. Each funded district will also receive a digital financial reality fair kit to help educators introduce students to foundational money-management concepts.
“Whether we are stocking book vending machines to spark a lifelong love of reading or equipping high-tech spaces that prepare the next generation of innovators, our goal is to build brighter futures,” said Texas Trust Gives Foundation Executive Director Washima Huq.
Endurance FCU Gives Teachers New Tools for the Classroom
Endurance Federal Credit Union awarded three educators $1,000 each in classroom supplies through its ninth annual Teacher Grant Program.
Duncan Middle School teacher Derrick Miller received a teleprompter for students producing weekly school news videos. Sarah Banuelos, a second-grade teacher at Horace Mann Elementary School, received literacy resources, hands-on learning materials, and other classroom supplies.
Clinton Public Schools agricultural education teacher Alexia Newman received 3D printers and materials that will allow her 60–85 students to create models of flowers, cells, molecules, animal parts, and other subjects they study.
“We launched the Teacher Grant Program as a way to give back to our educator members and to show our continued support for the schools within our community,” said Endurance FCU President/CEO Chris Bower.
