RBFCU Mobilizes Statewide Support for Food Banks

RBFCU concluded its Stars, Stripes & Service campaign after mobilizing more than 60 branches across Texas to fight food insecurity.

The 24-day campaign challenged members, employees, and communities to collect 25,000 pounds of nonperishable food while RBFCU matched each pound with $4, up to $100,000. Funding benefited food banks serving San Antonio, Central Texas, the Coastal Bend, and North Texas.

“This campaign was successful because so many people chose to give,” said RBFCU President/CEO Mark Sekula. “Every can, every box, and every dollar matched helped us move closer to our goal.”

Southern Gas FCU Marks 85 Years by Giving Back

Southern Gas Federal Credit Union celebrated its 85th anniversary by helping 90 local elementary students prepare for the school year.

Members, volunteers, and employees donated supplies and snacks to fill backpacks and wrote personal messages of encouragement for recipients.

“There was no better way to celebrate this milestone than by helping children in our community start the school year with the tools they need to succeed,” said Southern Gas Federal Credit Union CEO Tina Plante.

Tinker FCU Gives Member Added Peace of Mind

Tinker Federal Credit Union paid off the remaining $2,157 storm shelter loan of Shawnee, Okla., member Briceton Arnold through its 2026 Storm Shelter Loan Payoff Sweepstakes.

Arnold and his wife, Kilee, installed the shelter after a tornado severely damaged their home shortly after they moved in. Kilee also experienced the 2013 Moore tornado as a student.

The payoff eliminates about $100 in monthly expenses for their growing family while highlighting a TFCU loan product designed to help members prepare before severe weather strikes.

Arsenal CU Directs $40,000 to Support St. Louis Veterans

Arsenal Credit Union, in partnership with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, secured two $20,000 grants through the Member Impact Fund for St. Louis-area organizations serving veterans and military families.

The Kaufman Fund will use its $20,000 grant to strengthen programs addressing food insecurity, mental health needs, scholarships, and other essential services. The organization assisted more than 2,000 veterans in 2025 and said the additional funding will help close critical service gaps for veterans across the region.

Veterans Community Project of St. Louis also received $20,000 to support its work addressing veteran homelessness. The organization provides transitional tiny-home housing while connecting veterans with employment assistance, benefits navigation, and other resources designed to promote long-term stability and independence.

The Member Impact Fund provides matching funds to Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines member institutions, allowing Arsenal CU to extend the reach of its community investment. Together, the two grants direct $40,000 toward organizations helping veterans meet immediate needs while building pathways toward greater financial and personal stability.
