Dallas Chapter Delivers Classroom Support Through Bowling Fundraiser

The Dallas Chapter of Credit Unions brought credit union professionals together for a fundraiser and bowling tournament benefiting teachers and students at Frederick Douglass Elementary School, a Title I school in South Dallas.

Turning Participation Into Resources

The event drew record attendance and strong community support, including a sold-out raffle. Proceeds from the raffle and silent auction were used to purchase essential classroom and teaching supplies for the school.

Following the fundraiser, members of the Dallas Chapter board delivered the supplies and met with teachers and administrators to recognize their work supporting South Dallas students.

Representing the chapter were Monica Bingham of Resource One Credit Union, president; Alexa Bridges of America’s Credit Union, marketing chair; Venoka Daniels of Southwest Financial Credit Union, partner chair; Tanya Cason of Neighborhood Credit Union, secretary; and Jessica McGee of Texans Credit Union, treasurer.

“The success of this year’s fundraiser highlights the generosity and community spirit of the credit union movement,” Bingham said. “We are honored to support the dedicated educators at Frederick Douglass Elementary and help provide resources that will positively impact students throughout the school year.”

The Dallas Chapter adopted Frederick Douglass Elementary as part of its ongoing commitment to education and community service. Through the partnership, chapter members aim to help teachers access the supplies and resources needed to create successful learning environments.

The donation demonstrates the “people helping people” philosophy by showing how collaboration among credit unions can translate into meaningful support for local students, educators, and families.
