Tinker Federal Credit Union Invests in the Next Generation
One of the greatest ways credit unions make a lasting difference is by equipping young people with the knowledge to build a strong financial future. Tinker Federal Credit Union recently demonstrated that commitment by hosting Credit Uncovered: The Story Behind the Score, a free workshop for teens and their parents or guardians.
Through interactive activities and real-world examples, families learned how credit is built, how financial decisions shape future opportunities, and why starting these conversations early matters. Teens also had the opportunity to open an account, taking an important first step toward financial independence.
“We wanted to provide a safe, trusted environment where teens, parents and guardians could come together to ask questions and build a better understanding of how the financial decisions they make today can shape their future,” said Emily Loughridge, TFCU community engagement coordinator.
