The Oklahoma Central Foundation recently awarded $52,000 in scholarships to 26 Oklahoma students continuing their education at colleges, universities, and trade schools across the state.

Each student received a $2,000 scholarship to help cover educational expenses as they pursue degrees, certifications, and career training at institutions including Oklahoma State University, the University of Oklahoma, Tulsa Community College, and other schools across Oklahoma.

A scholarship reception honoring recipients and their families was held June 8 at Oklahoma Central Credit Union’s Brookside Branch.

“One of the most meaningful investments we can make is in students who are working hard to build a brighter future,” said Gina Wilson, president/CEO of Oklahoma Central Credit Union and president of Oklahoma Central Foundation. “As a locally led foundation, we are proud to support these students as they pursue their goals right here in Oklahoma.”

Applicants were selected by the Oklahoma Central Foundation Scholarship and Grant Committee based on academic information, school and community involvement, and written essays.

Since its founding in 2014, the Oklahoma Central Foundation has focused on creating opportunities for Oklahomans through scholarships, teacher support, financial education programs, and community partnerships.

The scholarships reflect a broader truth about credit union impact. Supporting students today can help strengthen communities for years to come, especially when local institutions choose to invest in potential, ambition, and long-term opportunity.
