Together CU Expands Financial Education Through Two Community Programs

Wed June 17, 2026

Together Credit Union is broadening its community impact through two financial education efforts aimed at meeting learners at different stages of life, from elementary and middle school students to adults working toward new opportunities.

Reaching Young Learners Early

In one initiative, Together CU partnered with Springboard to Learning to launch Earn & Learn Together!, an arts-integrated financial education card game designed for students in grades 3-6. The game helps children practice money management skills by earning money during play and making decisions about how to spend, save, or share it. Discussion prompts are also included to help parents, teachers, and caregivers connect gameplay to real-world financial concepts. Together and Springboard plan to distribute an initial 1,000 game packs across the St. Louis region.

Supporting Adult Students

Together CU is also partnering with MERS Goodwill Excel Centers on a Financial Empowerment Series for adult students. The curriculum focuses on practical topics such as budgeting, saving, credit building, debt management, and access to financial resources. Cooper Tucker, financial foundations teacher at MERS Goodwill Excel Center, said the series has helped students make more informed financial decisions while adding meaningful enrichment to the classroom experience.

Taken together, the two programs reflect a simple but important strength of the credit union model: meeting people where they are. Whether the audience is a child just beginning to understand money or an adult working toward greater stability, financial education can have a lasting impact when it is practical, accessible, and rooted in community partnership.
