Announcing the 2025 Crash Hike the Hill Cohort

Thu October 02, 2025

Cornerstone League congratulates five young professionals selected to Crash Hike the Hill, where they’ll join Cornerstone advocates in Washington, D.C., to meet with policymakers and see advocacy in action.

Meet the Crashers

Tiffany Benavides, Virtual Member Services Supervisor, Fort Worth City CU — “We advocate daily for our credit unions and communities; I want to see what that looks like on the legislative side and be there in person as I grow in my career.”

Jada Davis-Lopez, Communication Center Representative, Oklahoma Central CU — “I want to experience the full arc of advocacy—from first conversation to outcome—and understand how my voice influences members and how elected officials shape the movement.”

Nicole Wade, Loan Officer, Century CU — “On the front line I hear daily how people-first finance changes lives; I want to be a voice for those members and help lawmakers see the real-world impact of their policies.”

Vincent Wagner, Senior Communications Specialist, Mazuma CU — “Advocacy deepens my connection to the movement and strengthens how I speak to members and policymakers about the differences credit unions make—and why those must be preserved.”

Chris Westerman, IT Specialist, Diamond Lakes FCU — “Discussing credit unions with our members of Congress is an opportunity to see, firsthand, what happens in Washington in ways that directly affect me, my community, and our members.”

Crash Hike the Hill gives emerging leaders a front-row view of federal advocacy and the chance to bring actionable insights back to their credit unions. Please join us in congratulating this year’s Crashers—and in thanking their credit unions for investing in the next generation of advocacy leaders.
