Candy Pitts

Candy Pitts is a mortgage loan underwriter for Rave Financial in Beaumont, Texas. She’s been in the credit union industry for nine years. She enjoys growing her knowledge and helping educate people when they make some of the biggest decisions of their lives.

When it comes to her favorite movie, she can watch “Sweet Home Alabama” over and over. Switching things up, her current read is “Where the Crawdads Sing.” As far as TV shows, she’s currently binge-watching “Suits” but also enjoys tuning in to reality shows like “The Bachelor” and “Big Brother.”

Role models can leave a significant impression on people, and Pitts is no exception. Her first boss in the credit union industry inspired her to strive for her passions. “She is authentically herself and is aware of her strengths and weaknesses,” said Pitts of her first boss. “She’s passionate and committed, and I hope to be like her one day.”

One thing that surprises people about Pitts is that she was once featured in Who’s Who Among American High School Students. Considering the places Pitts has traveled, Cayman Islands is her favorite destination. “The water is beautiful, and I love seeing the sea turtles and stingrays.”

Her favorite nonprofit to support is United Way because they collaborate with other nonprofits in her area. She also enjoys participating in the Day of Caring and giving back to the community in small but impactful ways.

If Pitts ever has a craving for dessert, her all-time favorite is a treat called Banana Goodness, which she compares to banana pudding “but better.”

Devin Butzin

Devin Butzin is a teller for Frontier CCU in Leavenworth, Kan. Fresh in the scene, Butzin has one month of experience in thecredit union industry. His favorite thing about working in his credit union is the access of knowledge and being able to use it to learn something new every day.

When it comes to movies, his favorite is Interstellar. He’s currently binge watching The 100 on Netflix. When he’s ready to dig into a good book, he reaches for his current favorite, the Harry Potter series. Currently, he’s really into the OpTic Podcast.

One thing that surprises most people is Butzin’s impressive height of 6 feet 8 inches. If he could have a conversation with any musician, he would choose Post Malone. “He’s my favorite music artist and a nerd like me,” said Butzin.

His role model is his brother, who showed him the importance of staying positive in the hardest of times. Butzin’s favorite nonprofit to support is the National Scoliosis Foundation. “My brother has severe scoliosis, and helping families with their needs can help more than you think; I’ve seen it firsthand.”

If he could have one superpower, Butzin would choose teleportation because it would make traveling anywhere accessible. If he ever feels a craving for a sweet snack, he searches for his favorite dessert, cheesecake.

Jessica Wooten

Jessica Wooten is a mortgage loan manager for Education First FCU in Beaumont, Texas. She has just over three years of experience working in the credit union industry.

Her favorite thing about working in the credit union is the community. “Our staff are so sweet, and they make you feel like you have known them your entire life,” said Wooten. “It just makes coming to work that much more pleasant.”

Wooten shared that people are often surprised at her tenacity. “I believe that one thing that surprises most people about me is my willpower,” she said. “When the going gets tough, I tend to dig my heels in and roll with the punches. I’m not one to give up easily, especially if it’s something I’m truly passionate about.”

A movie she can watch on repeat is “Coming to America.” She enjoys it so much that she knows nearly all the punch lines. When she feels like binge-watching some television, she tunes into “Chicago Med” because she loves a good medical series.
