1st University Credit Union Promotes Kevin Hood to EVP

Kevin Hood has been promoted at 1st University Credit Union to the position of executive vice president. Hood will be responsible for monitoring operations, managing member relationships, developing the credit union’s strategic plan, and identifying business opportunities that would maximize the credit union’s performance, drive revenue, and achieve goals.
Since joining in 2021, Hood has served as the EVP of the Information Systems and Compliance departments. Specifically, he oversaw the credit union’s adoption of new technologies, enhancement of current systems, and compliance with regulations governing credit unions. Hood has been credited with important accomplishments, including getting the credit union’s debit card in mobile wallets, online account opening, and digital communications.
From December 2003 to July 2021, Hood worked for Cornerstone Resources in Plano, Texas. As a senior IT consultant, he accumulated years of experience auditing the IT operations of more than 150 credit unions. Prior to Cornerstone Resources, Hood was the information technology coordinator at 1st University Credit Union.
Hood is a 2002 graduate of Baylor University and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in management of information systems. He is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor and holds MCP and MCSA certifications.
Texas Trust employees graduate from Cornerstone Leadership Academy
Two Texas Trust Credit Union employees graduated from the Cornerstone League’s Leadership Academy (CLA), an exclusive nine-month, higher-level education program designed to develop future credit union leaders. CLA offers an in-depth study of credit union philosophy and accounting and finance, marketing, human resources, compliance, branch operations, lending, project management, IT, government relations, and DEI.

Member Experience Manager Travis Tedford has served in a variety of positions since joining Texas Trust in 2009. He works with multiple departments and looks for opportunities to ensure a superior member experience in-branch and online.
