West Community Credit Union Invests $20,000 in Community Organizations

West Community Credit Union donated $10,000 each to Junior Achievement and Veterans Community Project through funding from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines Member Impact Fund.

Junior Achievement will use the funding to expand financial literacy, career readiness, and entrepreneurship opportunities for St. Louis-area students. Veterans Community Project will use its donation to support housing and comprehensive services for veterans experiencing housing instability.

“At West Community, our commitment to people helping people extends beyond traditional banking services,” said Lori Hudson, community engagement manager. “By partnering with organizations that share our values, we can help create stronger communities and expand opportunities for those who need them most.”

United Federal Credit Union Helps Raise Record $11,000 for Local Youth

United Federal Credit Union helped the Boys & Girls Club of Marion County raise more than $11,000 during its annual Dunk Tank Challenge fundraiser Aug. 20, setting a new event record. United FCU matched the first $2,500 in donations to help amplify community support.

Held during Marion’s Third Thursday festivities, the fundraiser brought together businesses, community leaders, volunteers, and residents. United FCU employees also participated in the event and helped promote the fundraiser throughout the Marion, Ohio, community.

Funds raised will support Boys & Girls Club programs providing local youth with academic support, workforce readiness experiences, emotional wellness resources, mentorship, and leadership development opportunities.

Education Credit Union Connects with More Than 12,000 Educators

Education Credit Union participated in 49 back-to-school events throughout the Texas Panhandle, connecting with more than 12,000 educators, administrators, and school support staff as they prepared for the new school year.

ECU provided meals at many events, distributed water bottles, and shared information about New Teacher Loans, Back-to-School Loans, and Pocket Change Grants. Events ranged from staff convocations and new employee trainings to resource fairs, teacher conferences, and community celebrations.

“We were founded in 1935 by teachers, for teachers,” said ECU President/CEO Marcus Smith. “Though our membership has grown over the years, our educators still hold a special place in our heart.”
