YP Spotlights for February

Thu February 26, 2026

The Leaguer regularly features Young Professional Spotlights to help you get to know these up-and-comers. This month, meet YP Advisors Daniela Garcia and Nermina Ibisevic.

Daniela Garcia, South Texas Federal Credit Union

Daniela Garcia, compliance manager at South Texas Federal Credit Union, has been in the credit union industry for six years. She says her favorite part of the work is growing professionally while protecting something bigger than herself.

“Compliance is about integrity, and I take pride in being part of that foundation,” she said.

Garcia credits her mother as her role model. “Not everyone sees the sacrifices she’s made, but I do. Watching her persevere with strength and grace has been one of the greatest influences in my life.”

Outside of work, Garcia enjoys rewatching Shrek (all parts), listening to crime-related podcasts, and binge watching Love Island and Criminal Minds. Her favorite desserts are strawberry crème cake and chocolate chip cookies.

Nermina Ibisevic, First Missouri Credit Union

Nermina Ibisevic, branch manager and business development officer at First Missouri Credit Union, has been in the credit union industry for one year. She says what draws her most to the movement is the impact credit unions have on everyday lives.

“My favorite thing about working at a CU is the everlasting financial empowerment we provide to our neighbors and friends through meaningful resources and meeting our members where they are,” she said.

Ibisevic names her parents as her role models, citing their unconditional love and support. Many are surprised to learn she is not originally from Saint Louis; her favorite place to travel is her homeland, Bosnia & Herzegovina.

She supports Angel Arms, a St. Louis nonprofit that helps siblings in foster care stay together while providing resources and support for families. Outside of work, she enjoys watching Suits, rewatching The Little Rascals, and indulging in anything chocolate.

These young professionals are making a difference in their credit unions and communities. Stay tuned for more YP Spotlights next month.
