Congratulations to the 2024 GAC Crashers! We’re thrilled to welcome another group of dedicated credit union advocates. This year's delegation of 58 crashers embodies the principles of leadership, innovation, and community service.
As we celebrate the 15th year of Crash the GAC, these emerging leaders are set to represent our community at America’s Credit Unions’ Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington, D.C., March 3–7.
The GAC provides an unparalleled platform for our crashers to dive into critical industry issues, network with leaders, and advocate for credit union interests. This year's cohort from the Cornerstone region is eager to learn, engage, and bring valuable insights back to their credit unions and communities:
- Kelli Gamel, retail manager at Azura Credit Union, Kan.
“Since starting my career at my credit union, all I have wanted is to learn and grow,” said Gamel, who is excited to share her passion with members. “This opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. with other emerging leaders in my field is an opportunity of a lifetime for me and my career.”
- Nicole Baxley, senior communications advisor at Wellby Financial, Texas
“I have always had a passion for advocacy, beginning my career as a press intern on the Hill for a U.S. senator,” said Baxley, who is eager to network with like-minded young professionals. “I look forward to meaningful discussions surrounding the important topics of financial health and community well-being as we work together to help people prosper.”
- Vincent Wagner, external communications specialist at Mazuma Credit Union, Kan.
“As a credit union enthusiast, I’m so excited to connect with and learn from other young professionals with diverse perspectives, unique insights, and fresh ideas,” said Wagner, who has been interested in crashing the GAC since he started his career in the credit union industry. “As a political junkie, I’m eager to explore how to best advocate for credit union members and the communities we serve. As a writer and communicator, I can’t wait to hear the GAC speakers’ inspirational and educational messages about the future of the credit union movement and how we can continue making a positive impact.”
Congratulations once again to the crashers selected from our region. Their journey exemplifies the power of collaboration and the impact of young professionals in our industry. Here's to making an impact and fostering the growth of our future leaders at GAC 2024!
