The Texas Trust Gives Foundation leveraged the North Texas Giving Day crowdsourcing fundraiser, hosted by Communities Foundation of Texas, to generate $8,000 from individual contributors and another $7,000 in cash prizes offered by various partners of the Communities Foundation to reward nonprofits for their fundraising efforts.
The Texas Trust Gives Foundation then added $10,000 to what it raised on North Texas Giving Day and provided a total donation of $25,000 for the Spread the Hope Peanut Butter Drive.
“We are excited about what we were able to raise through our first crowdsourcing fundraising campaign,” said Washima Huq, executive director of the Texas Trust Gives Foundation. “Because we were able to double what we gave last year, we also doubled the number of people we can help through this campaign, which is the purpose of this foundation.”
Huq added, “This was a team effort, with JP Godoy, AVP of business services at Texas Trust Credit Union being the driver behind the cause. We appreciate everyone who donated on North Texas Giving Day for helping us make a difference in the lives of our neighbors and friends.”
“Through their gift, Texas Trust Gives Foundation has shown a shared dedication and passion in providing nourishment and hope for our neighbors experiencing hunger,” said Trisha Cunningham, president and CEO of the North Texas Food Bank. We are so grateful for the generous and critical support the community provides, and partners like Texas Trust Gives Foundation bring us closer to our goal of a hunger-free, healthy North Texas.”
