Funds enable North Texas Food Bank to buy nearly 12,000 jars of nutritious peanut butter
Texas Trust Credit Union raised $11,862 for the North Texas Food Bank’s virtual peanut butter drive. The credit union raised the second highest amount out of 61 corporate and other teams competing to raise money to help the food bank stock its shelves with nutritious peanut butter.
The funds raised through the virtual peanut butter drive will allow the food bank to buy 11,862 jars of peanut butter at a discount and use it for weekend backpacks and family meal boxes for school children and families throughout the year.
Texas Trust, a $1.7 billion asset credit union, collected funds for the virtual peanut butter drive from employees, totaling $5,931. The Texas Trust Gives Foundation matched the employee donations, bringing the grand total donation to $11,862. As a virtual drive, it made it easy for everyone to participate.
“Peanut butter is high in protein and rich in nutrients, making it one of the most needed products for the North Texas Food Bank,” said Ginia Chapline, COO of Texas Trust Credit Union and director of the Texas Trust Gives Foundation. “Our employees are always eager to help the food bank and other organizations that support our local communities.”
Chapline added, “The North Texas Food Bank does a wonderful job feeding our neighbors in need. We are proud to be able to help them stock their shelves.”
