Those who attended last week’s IMPACT Virtual event will know that we made quite a few announcements. We honored our “best of the best” with some very special awards, recognizing credit unions that demonstrate a sincere commitment to their members and communities. Read this week’s Leaguer story to learn who received ImPACt Awards, ARCUPAC, OCUPAC, TCCUL PAC, Desjardins Financial Education Awards (Adult and Youth), Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Awards, Louise Herring Philosophy-in-Action Member Service Award, and Chapter of the Year.
We also made another announcement last week. Credit union leaders traveled from near and far to celebrate former EVP/CAO/CFO Karen Hart’s achievements as she leaves behind an incredible 41-year legacy. To honor her legacy, Cornerstone Foundation announced the launch of the Karen Hart Legacy Society, through which credit unions may make a donation to create a legacy impact that extends beyond the span of one’s career or lifetime. Learn more in this week’s story.
Additionally, Cornerstone Resources has partnered with Info-Tech Research Group to provide information technology research and advisory services to help credit unions improve their core IT processes. Info-Tech Research Group is a leading information technology research and advisory firm serving more than 40,000 IT professionals around the world.
We extend a congratulations to AMOCO Federal Credit Union, whose field of membership has expanded. The National Credit Union Administration recently approved the addition of 477 underserved census tracts in Texas to AMOCO Federal Credit Union’s field of membership, which increases their potential field of membership by 2.49 million.
We also extend our well wishes to Oklahoma’s Credit Union, who is experiencing a different kind of growth. Luann Schmiedel has been named the new president/chief executive officer of Oklahoma’s Credit Union. She succeeds Mark Kelly, who retired after 40 years at OKCU. This is one of several other recent appointments announced by OKCU, which include additions to their operations team.
Read about these developments and more in this week’s Leaguer. Have a great week.
