CUNA/League Grassroots Activism Keeps NCUA out of Appropriations

The U.S. House of Representatives adopted the League/CUNA-backed Amodei-Aguilar amendment on NCUA by voice vote yesterday. The bipartisan amendment from Reps. Mark Amodei (R-Nev.) and Pete Aguilar (D-Calif.) removed a provision placing NCUA under the appropriations process from House appropriations bill HR 3354, which is scheduled for a vote this afternoon.

Tinker Federal Credit Union (TFCU) in Oklahoma City recently surprised one of its members by matching a mobile deposit she made using the credit union’s Home Branch Mobile Check Deposit. That deposit was TFCU’s millionth mobile check deposit since the service launched in 2013.
